International Friendship Activities & Cultural Exchange

InterFACE Ministries is a national nonprofit organization of Christians dedicated to serving the international student community

Garen & Pat Forsythe of Emporia, KS Emporia State University

We are a group of Christian individuals from within the Emporia community who care deeply about your having a positive stay in the United States. Simply put, we exist for the sole purpose of touching the lives of international students with the love of God. It is our desire to promote valuable friendships among people from different parts of the world. We want nothing more than for your stay in Emporia to be a rewarding experience.

In order to accomplish our purpose, we provide a variety of activities which may be of interest to you. these include cultural day trips to regional events and sites of interest, *First Friends* (an American friendship program), regular social gatherings, Bear Trap Ranch (an annual trip to spend a week in the Colorado Rockies during Christmas break), *Friday Night Friends* (a bi-weekly meal and gathering in the home of an American family), the *World Fellowship* (internationals and Americans who gather weekly to study the Bible), and the *International Christian Fellowship* (a bi-weekly gathering of international Christians).

FIRST FRIENDS

It has been demonstrated that the key element in a positive cross-cultural experience is for a student to develop a friendship with an American. "First Friends" seeks to meet this need by matching international students with American families in order to provide the student with a "home-away-from-home."

FREE CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH CLASS

Each Thursday evening, 7:00 PM

PKP Room (2nd floor of the Memorial Union, above the cafeteria)

This free class is an excellent opportunity to practice a more conversational style of English while developing friendships with Americans.

INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP

The home of Garen and Pat Forsythe

1st and 3rd Friday of every month, after Friday Night Friends

Join with other Christian international students as we meet together to better learn what is means to follow Jesus in our world. This semester, we will be going through a series that will teach us how to better share our faith with our friends and family.
